Mr. Robert Rich

               Funeral services for Mr. Robert Rich, age 83, of Elora, TN, who passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, will be conducted Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Winston Tipps officiating. Burial will follow in McClure Cemetery. Mr. Rich was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Bob L. & LoDeana Robinson Rich, a painter and a member of the Elora Church of Christ. Along with his parents, Mr. Rich was preceded in death by his wife:  Roxie Juanita Rich in 2002. Survivors include 1 son:  Mark & Rose Ann Rich; 1 grandson:  Mark Wayne Rich; 2 sisters:  Josephine Marty, Worda Beshears; 1 brother: Nolen Rich; 3 nieces:  Mary Jo Bryant, Willene Juarez, Jamie Shasteen and 3 nephews:  Bill Beshears, Bobby Rex Rich and Dana Marty. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mr. Jimmy Brown

               Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Brown, age 59, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Dan Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery. Mr. Brown was a native of Bedford Co., TN, son of the late Marion Francis Brown & the late Pearl Alease Gray Brown, an electrician and a member of the House of Truth Church in Park City. He is survived by his wife:  Melba Pigg Brown of Petersburg, TN; 2 daughters:  Amanda Jean Myrick of Guntersville, AL, Crissy Philpot of Shelbyville, TN; 2 sons:  Timmy Randolph, Tommy Randolph both of Petersburg, TN; 2 step-sons:  Robert Newman, Walter Newman both of Shelbyville, TN; 3 sisters:  Gail Dale, Louise Lambert both of Fayetteville, TN, Nancy Tucker of Huntsville, AL; 7 brothers:  Bill Brown of Fayetteville, TN, Ronnie Brown of Petersburg, TN, Joe Brown of Fayetteville, TN, Frankie Brown of Kelso, TN, James Ray Brown of Fayetteville, TN, Tommy Bates of Shelbyville, TN, Jackie Brown of Fayetteville, TN and 13 grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Margaret Pylant

               Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Pylant, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Friday, March 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Pylant was a native of Lincoln County, daughter of the late Ben & Janie Moore Warren. She was a printer, a member of the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Eastern Star. Along with her parents, Mrs. Pylant was preceded in death by her husband:  Woodrow Pylant; sister:  Julia Templeton; brother:  Phillip Warren. Survivors include 1 son:  Roy Pylant of Nashville, TN; 1 daughter:  Brenda Gilbert of Lexington, KY; 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Mildred Phillips Houk

               Mildred Phillips Houk went home Tuesday, March 6, 2007. The funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Pastor Hershel Houk, son Thomas 'Buster' Houk, parents Thomas & Jessie Phillips and brothers, Louis Phillips and Jimmie Phillips. She is survived by a sister, Pauline McNabb of Huntsville, AL, a daughter-in-law, Cassina Houk of Fayetteville, 3 daughters: Carol (J.D.) Burchett of Huntsville, AL, Judy Shannon of Fayetteville, and Cindy (Jimmy) Hill of Madison, AL, 11 grandchildren, Pam Howell of Fayetteville, Keith Houk of Fayetteville, Tim Houk of Avon Lake, OH, Sonja Strickland of Stockbridge, GA, PFC David Houk of the United States Army, KaAnn Varner of Sulphur, OK, Randy Shannon of Pulaski, Jason Hill of Guntersville and Trent Hill of Hazel Green, AL. In addition, she is survived by 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She served faithfully at Crystal Springs Church of God in Flintville, TN for many years. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Margaret Joustra

               It is with regret that we announce the death of Mrs. Margaret Joustra, age 80, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at her residence. There are currently no services planned. Gallant Funeral Home is assisting the family. Mrs. Joustra was a natvie of Hagerstown, MD, daughter of the late John Henry Shank, Sr. & the late Lillian Eberts Shank. Survivors include 2 sons:  Ivan Duvall, Jr., Howard Lewis both of Fayetteville, TN; 2 step-sons:  Gene Francis Joustra, Allen Joustra both of Reno, NV; 1 brother:  Howard Shank of Baltimore, MD; 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 7 great grandchildren.

 

 

Mrs. Georgia Ivey

               Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia E. Ivey, age 89, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Lincoln Skill Care Center, will be conducted Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Ivey was a native of Moore Co., TN, daughter of the late William Arthur & Maggie Reese Shields. She was a housewife and a member of the Community Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Ivey was preceded in death by her husband:  Leon Ivey in 1988; 1 great granddaughter:  Caitlin Nowin in 1998; 4 sisters:  Ann Newgent, Dorothy Gibson, Mattie Daniel, Ruby Shelton and 1 brother:  Ollie Shields. She is survived by 1 daughter:  Judy & Bill Phillips of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son:  Billy Floyd & Imogene Shields of Flintville, TN; 5 grandchildren:  Teresa Nowin, Tammy Pendergrass, Robby Shields, Johnny Shields, Tracie Phillips; 7 great grandchildren:  Jordan Shields, Tyler Nowin, Ryan Shields, Jon Shields, McKenzie Nowin, Davis Allan Shields and Erika Shields and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Ms. Irene Edmiston

               Ms. Irene Edmiston was born January 24, 1947 to the late Roosevelt and Pauline Greer Edmiston in Petersburg, TN. She departed this life on March 7, 2007 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by a twin brother: Lugene, Carl Edmiston, Raymond Edmiston and sister: Mary Ellen Porter. As a young child, she attended Petersburg Church of Christ. She was a loving, devoted mother, sister, friend and babysitter to any child that needed care. She was a person that knew no strangers and opened her doors to anyone who needed help. She leaves to cherish her memory, four children: Clifford Edmiston of Murfreesboro, TN, Farley Edmiston, Linda Edmiston and Tyrone Edmiston all of Fayetteville, TN. Six grandchildren: Michael Edmiston, Karen Thomison, Arquishea Johnson, Cameron Holman, T.J. Edmiston and TaNiyah Edmiston. One great-grandson: Michael Jr. Special friends: Joe Beavers and Peggy Bean. Godchild:  Angela Henderson. God grandchildren:  Ikahia Harper and Jordan Henderson. She leaves to cherish two sisters:  Christine Smith of South Bend, IN, Odell Askins of Fayetteville; two brothers:  Harold (Jeanette) Edmiston of Mansfield, OH and Herman (Diretha) Edmiston of Albion, MI and an uncle Oscar Edmiston of Petersburg, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from noon until time of service at the Gallant Funeral Home. 

 

 

Mrs. Virginia K. Bates

               Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia K. Bates, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Harton Regional Hospital, will be conducted Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. graveside in Mackey Boshell Cemetery in Jasper, AL with Lonnie Ingram and Kent Kilpatrick officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bates was a native of Kansas, AL, daughter of the late Loyd Denver & Carmon Bryan Kirkley, a homemaker and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. She is survived by her adopted daughter:  Teresa Kilpatrick of Fayetteville, TN; step-daughter:  Shelia Bates of Memphis, TN; step-son:  Allan Bates of Florence, AL; sisters:  Dot Dodd of Jasper, AL, Kay Ingram of Empire, AL, Sandy Bullion of Muscle Sholes, AL and several grandchildren.

 

 

Mrs. Aileen Nichols

             Funeral services for Mrs. Aileen Nichols, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN. who passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Nichols was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Charlie & Maude Simmons Fowler. She was a packer for Eco. Lab and  she was of  the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband : Larry Nichols of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son: David  & wife: Kim Nichols of Joliet, IL; 3 daughters: Peggy & husband:  Richard Tolbert of Warrenington, VA., Carol & husband: Les Tolbert of Minooka, IL., Sherry & husband: Terry Shanahan of Elwood, IL.;1 brother: Bob Fowler of Winchester, TN.; 2 sisters: Rachel Boiles of Dayton, OH.,Lila Faye Neal of Elora, TN; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

 

 

Mrs. Rouchelle Ridley Edmiston

            Funeral services for Mrs. Rouchelle Ridley Edmiston, age 48, of Fayetteville, TN. who passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Vanderbilt Hospital, will be conducted Sunday March 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Edmiston was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of Henry and Westella Brown Ridley. She was a machine operator for C&S Plastic and a member of St. Paul AME Church. Survivors include her husband: Kenneth Edmiston of Fayetteville; 2 daughters: La'Rita R. Ridley and Princess Ridley; 2 sons: Carlos C. Ridley and Tionta T. Ridley all of Fayetteville; 2 sisters: Cherry Harris of Shelbyville, and Jannie Reynolds of Fayetteville; 4 brothers: Kennedy, Tanzie and Drexell Ridley all of Fayetteville, and James Ridley of Germany and 2 grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Sunday March 18, 2007 at 12 Noon until time of service.     

 

 

Mrs. Inez Lawson

               Funeral  services for Mrs. Inez Lawson, age 89, of Ardmore, AL, who passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, will be conducted Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery. Mrs. Lawson was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Bert & Mary Roland Thornton, a retired dietician aide at the St. Jo Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Survivors include her niece:  Linda & Gene Quillen; great niece:  Amanda & Steven Biggerstaff; great nephew:  Bobby & Melanie Quillen and other nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8  p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
