Mr. Lois Mills
November 18, 1929 - July 10, 2007
Funeral services for Mr. Lois Mills, age 77, of Huntsville, AL, who passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at his residence, will be conducted graveside in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Benny Berry officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Mills was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Alvis & Annie Towry Mills, a group leader for Amana and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Jean Mills of Huntsville, AL; 2 daughters: Linda Hovis of Fayetteville, TN, Pam Steelman of Kelso, TN; 2 sons: Terry Lynn Mills of Kelso, TN, Larry Mills of Blue Springs, MS; 4 grandchildren: Demetra Mills, Tracy Hovis, Ashonda Deason, Trent Mills; 3 great grandchildren: Haley Johnson, Blake Motlow, Ella Rose Deason; 1 step-daughter: Deborah Perry of Huntsville, AL; 1 step-son: Michael Mills of Huntsville, AL; 1 sister: Doris Spitzer of Spokane, WA. Visitation with the family will be Friday from noon until 1 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
Mr. James I Tackett
January 14, 1929 - July 14, 2007
Mr. James I. Tackett, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Saturday July 14, 2007 at the Lincoln Medical Center. Mr. Tackett was a native of Ohio, he was retired after serving with the Merchant Marines & working construction as a mechanic & welder. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Marie Thomas Tackett. He is survived by 3 daughters: Debbie Ragsdale of Fayetteville, TN, Judy Schvaneveldt of California, & Wanda Edsell of Spring City, TN; 2 sons James W. & Jon R. Tackett both of Buckeye, AZ; 2 sisters: Nadine Hawkins of Roswell, NM, & Cleota Young of California; 1 brother: Walter Tackett of Fayetteville, TN; 10 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. There are no services planned. The Gallant Funeral Home will be assisting the family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Cooper, age 87, of Vanntown, TN, who passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper was a native of Madison Co., AL, daughter of the late James Calvin & Ellie Irene Hirlston Rutledge. She worked for Serbin for 24 years, was a long time resident of Vanntown, TN and a member of the Fellowship First Baptist Church in New Market, AL. Survivors include her daughter: Johnney Ann Mitchell and husband: Robert Mitchell both of Winchester, TN and 1 grandson: Dan Mitchell of Vanntown, TN. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. John Allen Hobbs, age 74, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Donalson Care Center, will conducted Friday, July 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Wright's Cemetery. Mr. Hobbs was a native of Lincoln Co, TN, son of the late George W. & Flossie Stanford Hobbs. He was retired from the Lincoln County Highway Department and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife: Alice Romine Hobbs; 4 sisters: Ellen Posey, Joann Fears, Georgie Walker, & Irine Sawyers; & 1 brother: Robert Hobbs. He is survived by 1 daughter: Carol Mitchell of Pulaski, TN; 5 sons: Tommy, Marty & Allen Hobbs of Fayetteville, TN, Buddy Hobbs of New Market, AL, & Steven Hobbs of Pulaski, TN; 4 sisters: Emma Jean McKin & Maggie Mitchell of Fayetteville, TN, Louise Poarch of Lewisburg, TN, & Violet McKin of Flintville, TN; 1 brother: Carl T. Hobbs of Fayetteville, TN; 8 Grandchildren & 4 Great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening, July 19, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home.
Mr. Norman B. Edwards
November 28, 1923 - July 23, 2007
Mr. Norman B. Edwards, age 83, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Antioch, IL, son of the late Bert & Nettie Christofferson Edwards, retired from Amana and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Rhoda Edwards in June, 2007; 1 brother: Homer Edwards and 1 sister: Pearl Taylor. Survivors include 3 daughters: Gayle Edwards of Huntsville, AL, Pamela Kerce of Columbia, TN, Vicki & Wally Ring of Dothan, AL; 2 sons: Donald & Kathy Edwards of Caton, IL, David Edwards of Antioch, IL; 1 sister: Doris Anderson of Missouri; 2 brothers Ward Edwards of Illinois, Harold Edwards of Florida; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A private family service is planned at a later time. Gallant Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Roland, age 74, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Friday, July 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Johnson and Bro. Hubert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Mr. Roland was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Robert Landess & Annie Ray Bradford Roland, a meat cutter and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Roland was preceded in death by 6 brothers: James, Mason, Jack, Tommy, Don & David Roland and 1 sister: Marcella Knight. Survivors include his wife: Lottie Roland of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter: Sherry Head of the Skinem Community; 2 sons: Terry Roland of Fayetteville, TN, Jeff Roland of Park City, TN; 2 sisters: Lula Quick of the Lincoln Community, Margaret Patterson of Taft, TN; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mrs. Ruth Evans, age 79, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Lincoln Skill Care Center. She was a native of Akron, OH, daughter of the late Vernon A. & Blanche Parker Minch, a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran faith. She is survived by 1 daughter: Marcia Ann Stewart of Hazel Green, AL; 2 sons: William Michael Evans of Cocoa, FL, Allan Lee Evans of Lawrenceville, GA; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at a later time in Florida. Gallant Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Todd Alverson officiating. Burial will follow in Elora Cemetery. Mrs. Staton was a native of Flintville, TN, daughter of the late Robert E. & Essie Pearl Pitts Moorehead. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elora Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Staton was preceded in death by her husband: Howard Staton and 1 daughter: Vickie Lynn Jones. Survivors include 3 daughters: Melody Land of Kelso, TN, Sabrina Reed of McBurg, TN, Sandra Reynolds of the Maxwell Community; 3 grandchildren: Amanda Williams, Vickie Perry, Connie Franklin; 2 great grandchildren: Kain Williams, Laci Williams; 3 sisters: Nellie Miller of Elora, TN, Willa Jones of Elora, TN, Juanita Stockbridge of Fayetteville, TN and 2 brothers: Jerry & Dwight Moorehead both of Elora, TN. Mitch Hedge officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexie Crossroads Cemetery. Ms. Albert was a native of Madison Co, AL; she was the daughter of the late Rev. Joseph T. & Nell Rutledge Porter. She was a housewife and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband: Jerry Albert of Lewisburg, TN; 1 daughter: Janet Darnell of Lewisburg, TN; 2 sons: Joe & Keith Neal both of Fayetteville, TN; 4 sisters: Thelma Carter of Fayetteville, TN, Margaret McGowan of Huntsville, AL, Barbara Lango of South Carolina, & Mary West of Chattanooga, TN; 2 brothers: John Porter of South Carolina, & Rex Porter of Arizona; 8 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. Joe Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Ms. Payne was a native of Florence, AL, the daughter of the late Charlie & Nannie Pearl Martin Gray; she was a waitress in the Fayetteville area for several years. She is survived by 2 daughters: Doris & husband: Jerry Holder of Kelso, TN, Teresa & husband: Mike Franklin of Readyville, TN; 1 step-daughter: Lorinda & husband: Richard Scott of West Virginia; 4 step-sons: Johnny & wife: Melody Thompson of Fayetteville, TN, Marshall & wife: Karen Thompson of Florida, Grady & wife: Lisa Thompson of Ardmore, AL, & Darrell Thompson of California. A companion John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren & 2 step-great-grandchildren.
