Mr. Bobby Junior Vaughn

July 27, 1940 - August 4, 2007

                Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Junior Vaughn, age 67, of the Howell Community will be conducted Monday August 06, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Don Gatlin & Bro. Marine Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Vaughn passed away Saturday August 4, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Lincoln Co, TN, the son of the late William Cleborn & Alberta Sorrells Vaughn. He was a carpenter. Survivors include 1 daughter: Camilla Vaughn; 2 sons: Vince & Andy Vaughn all of Fayetteville; 2 sisters: Peggy Stewart & Billie Rutledge both of Huntsville, AL; 3 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening August 05, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.  

 

 

Mr. Witold Burnor Trzaska

October  06 , 1925 - August 05, 2007

                   Funeral services for Mr. Wintold Burnor Trzaska, age 81, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Tuesday August 07, 2007 @ 1:00 p.m. graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bill Wood officiating with burial to follow. Mr. Trzaska passed away Sunday August 5, 2007 in the Lincoln Medical Center. He was a native of South River, New Jersey. He was a self employed tile setter; a World War II veteran of U.S. Navy. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include a daughter: Linda McIntosh of Acworth, Georgia; a son Witold Trzaska, Jr. of Dallas, Georgia; a special friend: Christy Warren. There will be no visitation prior to the service.   

 

 

Mrs. Shirley Jean Moorehead

May 05, 1950  -  August 06, 2007   

                  Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Jean Moorehead, age 57, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted Friday August 10, 2007 @ 12 Noon in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Moorehead passed away Monday afternoon August 6, 2007 in the Metro/Maharry General Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was a native of Lincoln Co, TN, the daughter of the late Harvey Lee & Rebecca Taylor Kelso. She was a factory worker at Tennessee Apparel for several years. She later became disabled. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Annie Greene & Louise Wilson; 1 brother: Kenneth Kelso & 1 grandson: Kenneth Kelso. She is survived by 3 daughters: Sharon & husband: Scott Allen, Angela & husband: Alphonso Henderson & Patrion Moorehead all of Fayetteville, TN; 4 sisters: Margaret & husband: Johnny Harper, Eula Knott & husband: Stinson Knott both of Fayetteville, TN, Hazel & Anita Foxx both of Louisville, KY; 3 brothers: Thomas Kelso of Shelbyville, TN, Louis Kelso of Nashville, TN, & Harvey Lee Kelso, Jr. of Detroit, MI; 5 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service.  

 

 

Mrs. Nadine Vaughn

April 28, 1926 - August 11, 2007

                 Funeral services for Mrs. Nadine Vaughn, age 81, of the Yukon Community, who passed away Saturday August 11, 2007 at her residence will be conducted Tuesday August 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Prosperity Cemetery. Mrs. Vaughn was a native of Lincoln Co, TN,  the daughter of the late Joe C. & Leuna Cox Posey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Brown Teal Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Mattie Lee, & Elvesie Bryant. She is survived by a daughter: Debbie Vaughn of Taft, TN; a granddaughter: Billie Jo & husband: Michael Dhaese of Taft, TN; 1 brother: Jack Posey of Fayetteville, TN. A host of nieces & nephews. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening August 13, 2007 from 5 until  8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home. The family request that in lieu of flowers make donations to the Gallant Funeral Home or the family.

 

 

Mrs. Earlene Burrow

March 10, 1923 - August 13, 2007

                Funeral services for Mrs. Earlene Burrow, age 84, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Monday August 13, 2007 at the Donalson Care Center will be conducted Wednesday August 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church of Petersburg, TN. with Bro. Dennis Kimery officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Orchard Cemetery. Mrs. Burrow was a native of Lincoln Co, TN, the daughter of the late Grady & Kathleen Davis Whorley. She was a retired seamtress from Petersburg Mfg and was a Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands: Lewis Bedwell & Jesse Burrow. She is survived by 1 daughter: Kathy Hughes of Birmingham, AL; Terry Bedwell of Hazel Green, AL, & Richard Bedwell of Colorado Springs, Co; 2 sisters: Iris Bragg & Margie Crane both of Petersburg, TN; 1 brother: Jimmy Whorley of Shelbyville, TN; Grandchildren: Christopher Bedwell, Robin Bedwell, Angela Taylor, Kimberly Fuller, Richard Bedwell, Crystal Liederman, Beth Hanson Jennifer Pond & Jessica Oakes. Great- grandchildren: Nathan Taylor, Josh Taylor, Brandy Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Tyler Fuller, Tanner Fuller,Taylor Fuller, Julia Claire Liederman, & Clara Beth Henson. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening August 14, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Petersburg, TN          

 

 

Mr. Carl McAlister

August 26, 1960  -  August 15, 2007

               Funeral services for Mr. Carl McAlister, age 46, of Flintville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Mr. McAlister was a native of Wabash, Indiana, son of Betty Jo McAlister Griggs and the late Sherman Dwayne McAlister. He was the manager of dairy produce at Wal-Mart, a member of the Baptist faith and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. Survivors include his wife:  Aleshia McAlister of Flintville, TN; 1 daughter:  Bethanie McAlister of Hazel Green, AL; 2 sons:  Andrew McAlister of Fayetteville, TN, Alex McAlister of Flintville, TN; mother:  Betty Jo McAlister Griggs & step-father:  Grady Griggs both of Fayetteville, TN and 1 sister:  Melanie McAlister of Fayetteville, TN. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Jo Ellen Doucette

April 26, 1955  -  August 13, 2007

                 Memorial services for Mrs. Jo Ellen Doucette, age 52, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN, will be conducted Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Liberty Church of Christ with Richard Rogers officiating. Burial will be private. Mrs. Doucette was a native of Lincoln Co, TN; the daughter of the late T. J. Eddy & Cora Lee Deal Eddy who survives. She was a homemaker. In addition to her mother Mrs. Doucette is survived by a sister Janice Faye Metcalf of Shelbyville, TN. There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Service. Gallant Funeral Home is assisting the family.        

 

 

Mrs. Grace Hampton

June 6, 1917  -  August 18, 2007

               Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Hampton, age 90, of Athens, AL, who passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Athens Convalescent Center, will be conducted Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Basham officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hampton was a native of Marshall Co., AL, her family moved to Lincoln Co., TN shortly after her birth, daughter of the late Louis & Lou Johnson Shubert, a machine operator for Serbin for over 40 years and a member of the West End Baptist Church. He is survived by 1 son:  Henry & Pat Hampton of Athens, AL; 1 granddaughter:  Jennifer Leah Rogers; 1 brother:  James Shubert of Fayetteville, TN; 5 sisters:  Ola Weir, Daisy Shubert both of Fayetteville, TN, Katherine Teal of Hinesville, GA, Audry Jackson of Horn Lake, MS, Mary Fannie Corder of Huntsville, AL; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening  August 20, 2007 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Susie Norman Green

April 12, 1935   -   August 19, 2007

                  Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Norman Green, age 72, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Higgins & Bro. Dan Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Green was a native of Lincoln Co, TN; she was the daughter of the late Virce Norman & Vesta Ward Norman Mann. She was a former employee of Serbin Fashions & attended the House of Truth. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: George Glenn Green & a grandson: Chad Green. She is survived by her daughter: Debbie & husband: Jesse Hogue of Scottsboro, AL; a son: Charles Green of Fayetteville, TN; 1 sister: Calvinia Little of Boaz, AL; 1 brother: Leon Sullenger of Fayetteville, TN; 3 grandchildren: Paul Peacock, Kevin Hogue, & Christopher Green. Special Love Ones: Roy & Lisa Hazelwood, Shana Hazelwood, Donald & Tammy Hazelwood, Alison & Don Shel ton, Judy Holder, Debra & Destiny Rhodes, Lynn & Bob Wuinbmy, Ronnie & Teddy Pearson, & Bobby Pearson. Mr. Sam Rollins

August 24, 1926  -  August 22, 2007

                    Funeral services for Mr. Sam Rollins, age 80, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at his residence, will be conducted Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery. Mr. Rollins was a native of Lincoln Co, TN; son of Otha & Mattie Lee Boyd Rollins. He was a self-employed carpenter & a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. He loved car & go-cart racing. Survivors include his wife: Frances Brown Rollins of Fayetteville, TN; 1 daughter: Tracy Lynn Lindsay & husband: David of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son: Sam Rollins, Jr. & wife: Christy of Fayetteville, TN; 2 grandchildren: Stephen David Lindsay & Tyler Williams. Ms. Emma L. Benson

June 12, 1907  -  August 24, 2007

               Funeral services for Ms. Emma L. Benson, age 100, of Huntsville, AL, who passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at her residence, will be conducted Monday, August 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Bud Alverson officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery. Ms. Benson was a native of Madison Co., AL, daughter of the lateWilliam Bradford & Margaret Ella Omohundro Benson. She was a homemaker. Survivors include 2 sister:  Rosa M. Benson & Vera Alice Benson both of Huntsville, AL and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Monday from noon until time of service at the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

 

 

 

Mr.  Odell Noblitt

April 28, 1911 - August 25, 2007

                   Funeral services for Mr. Odell Noblitt, age 96, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007 in the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Mullins & Bro. Don Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery. Mr. Noblitt was a native of Lincoln County born in Mulberry, TN; the son of the late William Jasper & Maggie Lou Cowley Noblitt. Mr. Noblitt was a carpenter & a member of the Lincoln Baptist Church where served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife: Idova Cantrell Noblitt; 3 daughters: Patty Seals & husband: Carroll of Flintville, TN, Ariena Brady & husband Carlton of Fayetteville, TN, & Shelia Bartlett of Fayetteville, TN; 9 grandchildren: Carla Payne, Greg Brady, Angela Grissom, Todd Brady, Richard Case, Chris Case, Mark Case, Allison Good & Shelby Foster; 1 step-grandchild: Dale Bartlett; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. And a very special cousin: Virginia Bentley. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening August 27, 2007 5 until 8 p.m.

 

 

 

Mr. Willie Alvie Edmonson, Jr.

August 24, 1935 - August 26, 2007

                  Funeral services for Mr. Willie Alvie Edmonson, Jr,  age 72, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul AME Church with Bro. John E. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mr. Edmonson was a native of Fayetteville, TN; the son of the late Willie Alvie & Margie Conger Edmonson, Sr. He was retired from Inter-City Products and was a avid horseman. He raced trotters in several areas including the Lincoln County Fair. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association. Mr. Edmonson was preceded in death by a grandson: Justice Starks Edmonson. He is survived by his wife : Marilyn June Bryson Edmonson of Fayetteville, TN; 3 daughters: Pamela Edmonson of Madison, AL, Patrice Edmonson of Seattle, WA, & Paulette Edmonson of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sons: Patrick Edmonson of N.C., Phillip Edmonson of Fayetteville, TN, & Pierre Edmonson of Charlotte, N.C; 1 sister: Frances Gowdy of Cincinnati, Ohio; 15 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild.                Memorial services for Mr. John Willie Wells, age 58, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the West End Baptist Church. Mr. Wells was a native of Fayetteville, TN, son of Walter Bunn & Willene Moore Wells. He was a janitor and a member of the Mayberry Street Church of Christ. Survivors include 1 daughter:  Tanya Wells of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son:  Danny Wells of Fayetteville, TN; 5 grandchildren:  Tianada Wells, Jaron Wells, Preston Wells, Kanie Wells, Jadavis Wells all of Fayetteville, TN; step-children:  Erica Waggoner of Antioch, TN, Alisa Shandel Waggoner of Pennsylvania, Mary Jane Ussery, Eddie Ussery; step-grandchildren:  Crystal Howard, Illissa Howard, Cameron Garrett, Jahcenda Garrett & Lucas Garrett; sisters:  Clara McDonald, Dorothy Wells both of Fayetteville, TN; special cousins:  Ruby Smith, Bertha Nell Bonner & Junior Oden; special friend:  Jason Ray; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Robert "Bob" Opdyke

September 15, 1957  -  August 29, 2007

               Funeral services for Mr. Robert "Bob" Opdyke, age 49, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 in Madison County, AL, will be conducted Friday, August 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery. Mr. Opdyke was a native of California, son of the late Hallie Ernest Opdyke & Leona Henderson Opdyke who survives, a truck driver and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife:  Kellei Opdyke of Fayetteville, TN; daughters:  Heather & Stephanie Opdyke both of Fayetteville, TN; 1 son:  Robert Opdyke, Jr. of Fayetteville, TN; 1 grandson:  Liam Rydberg; mother:  Leona Opdyke of Fayetteville, TN; 3 step-children:  Caleb Britton, Joshua Britton and Crystal Britton all of Fayetteville, TN. Mr. G. A. Groce

August 31, 1918  -  August 30, 2007

               Funeral services for Mr. G. A. Groce,  age 89, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007 in  the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Saturday, September 01, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro Lon Osctrycki officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery. Mr. Groce was a native of Mimosa Community, the son of the late George & Ola Lane Groce. He was the owner of Groce's Feed Mill, associated with Groce's Stockyard, a farmer, & a member of the Mimosa Church of Christ. He is survived  by his wife: Helen Reynolds Groce; 3 daughters: Reba Adams of Park City, Retha Street of Fayetteville, & Linda Edwards of Madison, AL; 13 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren & 7 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening, August 31, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
