Mrs. Nellie Ruth Corbin

               Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Ruth Corbin, age 84, of Fayetteville, TN, formerly of Howell, TN, who passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 in the Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Wayne Hastings officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. Mrs. Corbin was a native of Maury Co., TN, daughter of the late Ellis Warren & the late Vera Potts Warren, a seamstress for Serbin, a member of the Howell Church of Christ, she enjoyed working in flower beds and loved to cook. Along with her parents, Mrs. Corbin was preceded in death by her husband:  Sam Corbin. Survivors include 2 sons:  Donnie Corbin of Howell, TN, Bobby Corbin of Canton, GA; 2 sisters:  Katherine Bradford of Lynchburg, TN, Frances Taylor of Petersburg, TN; 1 brother:  Albert Warren of Cleveland, OH; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverside Christian Academy. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from  5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mr. Billy Whitaker

               Funeral services for Mr. Billy Whitaker, age 71, of Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 in Lincoln Medical Center, will be conducted Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Van Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Whitaker was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late John & Willie Irvin Whitaker, a night watchman for the Elk Cotton Mill and a member of the Baptist Church. Along with his parents, Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his wife:  Sibyl Ruby Whitaker, 1 son:  David Wayne Whitaker; 2 sisters:  Lucille Whitaker & Dean Taylor. Survivors include 3 daughters:  Joyce Nelson of Murfreesboro, TN, Mary Ann Hopkins of Huntland, TN, Vicky Vaughn of Spring, TX; 1 son:  Billy 'Buck' Whitaker, Jr. of Fayetteville, TN; 5 sisters:  Sue Moore of Fayetteville, TN, Pearl Westbrook of Winchester, TN, Laura Williams of Fayetteville, TN, Jo-Lene Caldwell of Rogersville, TN, Mary Towry of Fayetteville, TN; 1 brother:  Donald Whitaker of Fayetteville, TN; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Gladys Lasater

               Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Lasater, age 92, of Hazel Green, AL, who passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005 in Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Sharp & Rev. Benny Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Bevills Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Lasater was a native of Arkansas, daughter of the late David & Addie Hill Clark, a housewife and a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL. Survivors include 1 daughter:  Evelyn Forbus of Woodville, AL; 2 sons:  Vernon & Dorothy Lasater, Earl & Ovie Lasater all of Hazel Green, AL; 7 grandchildren:  Teresa Harris, Nelda Sharp, Ralph Lasater, Danny Forbus, Sherry Tunstill, Sharon Cook, Tammie Forbus; 7 great grandchildren & 7 great-great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mr. Tommy Lane Wells

               Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Lane Wells, age 47, of Petersburg, TN, who passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 in Huntsville Hospital, will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Petersburg at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wells was a native  of Lincoln Co., TN, son of the late Franklin Don Wells & Mrs. Betty Jo Wells of Petersburg, TN. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include 1 daughter:  Jessica Lea Mericer of North Carolina; 3 sons:  Tommy L. Wells, Jr., Brian Adam Rogers both of Petersburg, TN, & Jody Lee Wells of Murfreesboro, TN; mother:  Betty Jo Wells of Petersburg, TN; 2 sisters:  Pam Warren & Lisa Ensley both of Shelbyville, TN; 6 brothers:  Steve Wells, Ricky Wells, J.J. Wells all of Fayetteville, TN, Hank Wells, Buck Wells both of Petersburg, TN, Randy Wells of Lewisburg, TN and 6 grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church.

 

 

Mrs. Ruth J. Dickey

               Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth J. Dickey, age 89, of Kelso, TN, who passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005 in the Donalson Care Center, will be conducted Monday, January 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Billions officiating. Burial will follow in Kelso Cemetery. Mrs. Dickey was a native of Lincoln Co., TN, daughter of the late Charles Wilson & Emma Katherine McCreary Nix, a housewife and retired seamstress for Serbin, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include 1 son:  Charles Dickey of Flintville, TN; 1 daughter:  Dixie Deike of San Antonio, TX; 1 sister:  Katherine Forrester of Fayetteville, TN; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

 

 

Mrs. Lelia Martin

               Funeral services for Mrs. Lelia Martin, age 65, of Kelso, TN, who passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005 at her residence, will be conducted Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Brace Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was a native of Lawrence Co., TN, daughter of the late Floyd Laws & the late Gladys C. Mosiure Laws, a seamstress and a member of the Park City Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by 1 daughter:  Lori Ann Martin & 1 brother:  Edward Laws. Survivors include 2 daughters:  Christine Regina Moore of Kelso, TN, Connie Sims of Flintville, TN; 3 sons:  Richard Martin of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ronnie Martin of Ethridge, TN, Michael Martin of Lawrenceburg, TN; 2 sisters:  Mary Dycus, Linda Gillkey both of Hopkinsville, KY; 1 brother:  Ricky Laws of Hopkinsville, KY; 7 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.
