Mrs. Ruby H. Towry Mason
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby H. Towry Mason, age 90, of Depot St., New Market, AL, who passed away Friday, September 3, 2004 in Donalson Health Care, were conducted Monday, September 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Towry & Bill Towry officiating. Burial followed in Flintville Cemetery. Mrs. Mason was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Leonard Brown & the late Beulah Mae Copeland Brown, a cook for Elora School and a member of Flintville Baptist Church. Along with her parents, Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husbands: Arthur Fulon Towry in 1953 & Charlie Mason in 1993. Survivors include 5 sons: Joe Davis Towry of Huntsville, AL, Wendell Wayne Towry of New Market, AL, Chester Arthur Towry of Erin, TN, William Bostick Towry of Nashville, TN & Randall Brown of New Market, AL; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
Miss Sharon Payne
Funeral services for Miss Sharon Payne, age 46, of Haysland Road, Petersburg, TN, who passed away Sunday, September 5, 2004 in Sunbridge Health Care, were conducted Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Joe Parks officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Miss Payne was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Catherine Pearl Gray Thompson & the late Calvin Leander Payne, and a convenience store clerk for J.J.'s Quik Stop. She is survived by her mother & step-father: Mr. & Mrs. John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN; 2 sisters: Teresa Franklin of Readyville, TN, Doris Holder of Kelso, TN; her companion: Donnie Colbert of Petersburg, TN; step-sister: Lorinda Scott of Morgantown, W.VA.; 4 step-brothers: John Thompson of Fayetteville, TN, Grady Thompson of Athens, AL, Marshall Thompson of Clearwater, FL, Darrell Thompson of San Francisco, CA; aunt: Flo Payne of New Hope, AL and several nieces & nephews. Visitation with the family was held Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cindy Luttrell
Funeral services for Mrs. Cindy Luttrell, age 40, of McDougal Road, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Thursday, September 9, 2004 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, were conducted Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hill officiating. Burial followed in Gum Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Luttrell was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Myrtle Lee Hill Luttrell Smith, who survives, & the late Gerald Dwain Luttrell. She is survived by her daughter: Ashlei Luttrell of Fayetteville, TN; mother & step-father: Myrtlle & Robert Smith of Fayetteville, TN; 3 sisters: Lenis Storey of New Market, AL, Mary Dodge of Murfreesboro, TN, Teresa Luttrell of Fayetteville, TN; 2 nieces: Jennifer Fleming, Amy Puryear; 3 nephews: Dwain Storey, Chad Storey, Matthew Suenaga and several aunts & uncles. Visitation with the family was held Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Donna J. Shockley
Funeral services for Mrs. Donna J. Shockley, age 49, of Hatcher Dr., Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Saturday, September 11, 2004 at her residence, were conducted Monday, September 13, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Donald Ramey officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Shockley was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of Wyndell & Ruth Goatz, who survive, a material stocker, a member of the North Side Church of Christ and she enjoyed softball & horseback riding. Along with her parents, she is survived by 1 daughter: Brooke Shelton; 1 son: Heath Shockley; 2 grandchildren: Daiten Trentham & Chase Shelton; 1 sister: Debbie Elliott; grandmother: Jewel West all of Fayetteville, TN; 2 nieces: Tracy Shelton of Faeytteville, TN & Tonya Maddox of Orange City, FL. Visitation with the family was held Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dorothy Bankston
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Bankston, age 73, of Old Huntsville Hwy., Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Monday, September 13, 2004 at her residence, were conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Stamps officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Bankston was a native of Lincoln County, TN, daughter of the late Leonard William Pitts & the late Ruth Matlock Pitts, a housewife, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, and enjoyed a love of flowers and she enjoyed cooking for her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons: Billy Bankston & Wayne Bankston. Survivors include her husband: Robert Bankston; 2 daughters: Kathy & Crandell Bevers, Linda & Charles Norris; 2 sons: Bobby & Ann Bankston, Don & Kathy Bankston; Daughter-in-law: Judy Bankston all of Fayetteville, TN; 2 brothers: Charles Pitts of Flintville, TN, Wiley Hugh Pitts of McBurg, TN; 12 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Bradford, age 56, of Taft, TN, who passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2004 in Bordeaux Nursing Home, Nashville, TN, were conducted graveside in Prosperity Cemetery with Charles Marable officiating and Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bradford was a native of Franklin County, TN, daughter of the late Carmon Clinton & the late Lula Mae Bradford Clinton. Survivors include 1 son: William Lee Fain of Taft, TN; 2 half-sister: Hettie Powell of Petersburg, TN, Joann Jolley of Decherd, TN; 1 half-brother: Elmer Jolley of Shelbyville, TN; 2 grandchildren: Tommy & David Fain.

Simmons, age 68, of Huntsville Hwy., Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in Lincoln Medical Center, were conducted graveside Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Flintville Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Simmons was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of Maybelle Collins Simmons & the late Hugh Dane Simmons and a truck driver. Along with his father, Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by 1 sister: Jean Holt & 1 brother: Joe Dennis Simmons. Survivors include 2 daughters: Ezeckiel Ann Simmons Bechtel of Arabia, GA, Maybelline Hargrove of Columbia, TN; 1 son: Timothy Dane Simmons of Osteen, FL; 1 sister-in-law: Margaret Simmons Thornton; 6 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jeffry Ray Bates, age 32, of Towry Lane, Fayetteville, TN, who passed away Sunday, September 19, 2004 at his residence, were conducted graveside Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rolling Hills Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bates was a native of Lincoln County, TN, son of Judy Gibson Bates, who survives & the late Ray Douglas Bates, a mechanic and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include 2 daughters: Hayley Renee Bates, Kaylan Riley Bates; 1 son: Jeffry Ray Bates, Jr.; mother: Judy Bates all of Fayetteville, TN; 1 sister: Karla Ward of Elora, TN; grandfather: Walter B. Gibson of FAyetteville, TN; several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Hilda L. Reed
Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda L. Reed, age 97, of Pine Forest Ln., Huntsville, AL, who passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in Crestwood Medical Center, were conducted Friday, October 1, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating. Burial followed with a graveside service on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in Pleasantville Cemetery in Pleasantville, Iowa. Mrs. Reed was a native of Minnesota, daughter of the late Adolph Herrlich & the late Amanda Wendt Herrlich, a housewife and a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include 2 daughters: Marjorie Marie Ward of Huntsville, AL, Lucille Evelyn Jones of Otley, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
